New to Hallbrook

EYFS Leader: Mrs Natalie Tasker

At Hallbrook Primary School, we care passionately about our children’s education and go the extra mile to help every child reach their full potential. Our Early Years staff are highly committed to teaching stimulating and engaging lessons, concentrating on making sure that children acquire basic skills, as well as challenging every child with our rich curriculum.

We are committed to providing an excellent education for your child ensuring they enjoy their learning, achieve and make progress supported by a strong moral ethos and high standards of behaviour. We celebrate individual achievement and recognise the potential of everyone. Our teaching approach works with promoting core values. This creates a positive learning environment that enhances academic achievement, and develops children as confident individuals and responsible citizens.

The positive learning environment is achieved through the positive values modelled by the staff throughout school. It develops children’s social and emotional well-being and equips them with social and relationship skills, intelligence and attitudes to succeed at school and throughout their lives.

Our dedicated Early Years spaces – both indoors and outdoors, provide a stimulating environment to ensure your child develops resilience, friendships and positive relationships, that further aid academic growth. Children safely explore risks and challenge their own learning to prepare them for the next stage in their school life.

Within the day, we create a play-based approach with a mixture of teacher-directed and child-led learning.  This allows our children to develop whilst immersed in the positive ethos of school.

How do we teach our children to be successful?

We follow the Early Years Statutory Framework. This Framework specifies the requirement for learning and development in the Early Years and provides prime and specific areas of learning we must cover in our curriculum:

Prime Areas:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language development

Specific Areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design
